CINCINNATI - Inclement weather in western New York has forced the Xavier- St. Bonaventure series to be moved to Hayden Field on Xavier's campus. The Atlantic 10 Conference opening series between the two schools was originally scheduled to be held in Olean, N.Y., but snow in the area caused the move.

Game times are currently scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday. Check GoXavier.com for updates regarding the series.

Weather Issues
This weekend's series with St. Bonaventure was originally scheduled to be held in St. Bonaventure, N.Y., but was moved to Cincinnati due to bad weather in New York. Snow fall over the last couple of days and more snow in the forecast over the weekend led to the change in venues.

Hitting The "Mark"
Mark Elwell's team-leading batting average (.393) ranks 91st in the country and ninth in the A-10. This is the best average of Elwell's career, topping last season's .329 batting average. The senior also sits 87th in the country in on-base percentage (.493). Elwell has reached base safely in all 17 games this season, running his streak to 20-straight games after including the final three of 2012.

Richard A Workhorse
Jon Richard has thrown 33.0 IP through four games this season, giving him 296.0 for his career. The lefty now ranks fifth all-time at XU after passing Jeff Barger's (1998-01) 293.0 IP. His sights are now set on Mike Creevy's 321.0 IP from 2004-07. Richard has a career-best 3.82 ERA so far this season, just above his career-best 3.76 ERA in 2011.

Wild Wild West-"rick"
Sophomore Alex Westrick has been the strong-arm on the mound in the first quarter of the 2013 season. The lefty made his first start of the season at Middle Tennessee, striking out eight batters with no walks in six innings of shutout baseball. Westrick followed with a three-run, seven-inning effort at No. 4 Louisville this past weekend. He sports a 2.39 ERA on the season.

Walks Will Haunt No More
Through the first 10 games of the 2013 season, XU's pitching staff walked 50 batters (5.0/game) and struck out just 52 (5.2/game). The Musketeers' pitchers have buckled down in the last seven, giving up just 16 walks (2.3/game) and striking out 37 (5.3/game).
