CINCINNATI - Xavier redshirt freshman Andre Jernigan was named National Player of the Week by College Sports Madness and redshirt senior Vinny Nittoli made the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Jernigan earned the national award after going 4-for-16 during the week, scoring four runs and driving in nine RBIs, which included a three-run bomb and a three-RBI single against Georgia State on Mar. 8. This marks the second weekly award for the redshirt freshman. He was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the first installment on Feb. 17. Jernigan is hitting for a .286 average with a team-high 11 RBIs on the year.

Nittoli (2-0) made the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his six inning performance against Georgia State on Mar. 7. The Gibsonia, Pa., native held the Panthers to just five hits and one run to earn the victory, his second of the year. This is the second weekly BIG EAST award for Nittoli, winning the BIG EAST Player of the Week back on Mar. 3. The dual-threat Nittoli is undefeated on the mound this year with a 0.53 ERA (39th nationally) over 17 innings. At the plate, he hits for a .345 average with two home runs and seven RBIs.

Jernigan, Nittoli and the Musketeers are in action this week for a home-and-home series against Miami (Ohio). They travel to Miami for a 6:00 p.m., start on Tuesday, followed by the Musketeers' home opener on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
