CINCINNATI - The Xavier University baseball team will make the trek to Murfreesboro, Tenn., for a weekend series at Middle Tennessee. Game one of the series is slated for a 3 p.m. start on Friday afternoon at Reese Smith Jr. Field. Saturday's game is set for 2 p.m., while Sunday's matchup will begin at 1 p.m.

All's El-"Well" In Last Five
Senior Mark Elwell has been on a tear over Xavier's last four games, going 10-for-16 (.625) at the plate. He's also driven in four runs and scored four times himself. Four of his 10 hits have gone for doubles.

Double Trouble
Centerfielder Mark Elwell leads the team in batting (.421), slugging (.579), runs scored (9) and doubles (6), while ranking second in RBIs with seven. Elwell's six doubles ranks him 18th in the country and his .67 doubles per game average ranks 13th.

Richard A Workhorse
Jon Richard has thrown 6.0 IP in all three games this season, giving him 18.0 on the season and 281.0 for his career. The lefty passed Bill Konecny's 275.2 IP from 2004-07 to move into sixth all-time in XU's record books. His sights are now set on Jeff Barger's (1998-01) 293.0 IP. Richard has a career-best 3.50 ERA so far this season.

Hot Start for Koors
RHP Tyler Koors has been terrific to start the season. He's thrown 18.0 innings on the mound and allowed just five earned runs, good for a 2.50 ERA that ranks t-24th in the A-10. The Indianapolis, Ind., native has fanned nine batters and only issued five free passes. In his last outing at Georgia Southern, Koors went six innings and gave up just two runs.

Don't Wake a Sleeping Dog
After sputtering through the first five games of the season with just one double-digit hitting perfomance, Xavier has registered 10 hits or more in four of its last five games games. Entering the final game of the UAB series, the Musketeers were hitting only .223 as a team. With a batting average of .316 in the last five games, the team's average has risen to .273.

Last Meeting - Middle Tennessee
This will be the first meeting in Xavier's recorded history between the two ball clubs.

Last Meeting - Bryant
Tuesday's game between XU and Bryant will also be the first meeting between the two clubs.
