Buckey State Baseball Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio-- Xavier junior Seth Willoughby and sophomore Vinny Nittoli were named preseason Second Team All-Buckeye State by Fox Sports Ohio's Buckeye State Baseball blog.

Nittoli led the starting corps with a 7-1 record and a 3.75 ERA in 13 starts earning a place on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team last season. Richard and Koors each posted 5-5 records with Richard holding a 3.76 ERA in 15 starts while Koors earned a 4.74 ERA in 13 starts.

Willoughby will anchor the back end of the bullpen again this season. The Columbus, Ohio native has played the part of closer for the Musketeers since his freshman year and earned nine saves during the 2011 season. He was also named First Team All-Conference last season for his exploits on the mound and in the field.

XU opens the 2012 season at No. 3 North Carolina February, 17.
