SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall opened up a huge lead early in the game and Xavier never threatened in a 16-0 loss to the Pirates. The Musketeers slide to 24-22 overall and 7-6 in BIG EAST Conference action, falling one game behind the Pirates in the league standings. SHU now holds a 34-11 mark (8-5 BIG EAST).

Joe Forney gave the Musketeers a one-out double in the first inning, running his league-leading total to 16. XU was unable to advance Forney and the SHU barrage of runs began.

The Pirates plated six runs in the first, five runs in the second, four more in the sixth and a single run in the seventh. The Musketeers mustered five hits, two of which went for doubles, but couldn't plate a run against the league's top pitching corps.

Forney finished the game with a pair of hits, while Andre Jernigan, Bo Slemons and Joey Noble added one hit apiece. Adam Hall took the loss for the Musketeers, dropping to 5-3 on the year.
