CINCINNATI -- The Xavier baseball team split Saturday's double-header against SBU with the Bonnies taking game one 2-1 while XU took game two 6-1. With the split, Xavier improved to 23-20 overall and 8-7 in the Atlantic 10

Bonnies starter Jordan Crane earned the complete game win in game one, giving up just one earned run. Xavier starter Tyler Koors fell to 3-4 as he was pegged with the loss.
Game Two RecapXavier took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to a RBI sacrifice fly to center field by sophomore third baseman Patrick Paligraf that scored freshman right fielder Brian Bruening.
The Musketeers got their first hit of the game on a single to right field by Thomas. An RBI single by sophomore second baseman Seth Willoughby followed by a RBI fielder's choice by Bruening stretched the XU lead to 3-0.
The Bonnies scored once in the top of the seventh but XU was able to pull away with a three-run homerun to left field by Willoughby that extended the Musketeer lead to 6-1.
Redshirt sophomore Vinny Nittoli improved to 6-1 with the win. The XU right hander 6.1 innings of four-hit, one-run baseball in the victory.
