CINCINNATI -- Daniel Rod's lead-off triple to center in the top of the 10th set up a two-out RBI single by Patrick Paligraf spurred a three-run rally to give XU a 7-4 win against crosstown rival Cincinnati Wednesday night. With the win, XU improved to 20-23 overall and earned the first season sweep of UC since 2007.

Alex Vice improved to 4-3 in the season as he earned the win in two innings of action. Seth Willoughby struck out the side to close the game and earn his 10th save while starter Jacob Bodner went five innings in the no-decision.

Two rain delays plagued the game as the first pitch was held back 40-minutes and a 30-minute postponement occurred prior to the fifth inning.

The Musketeers led off the game with three straight singles by Paligraf, Selby Chidemo, and Derek Hasenbeck. Paligraf scored when Mitch Elliott reached on a fielder's choice to give XU a 1-0 lead.

Chidemo picked up his first RBI of the game in the top of the second when he hit a line drive single to center that plated Michael Moore.

Moore flashed some leather in the bottom of the second inning when he snagged a J.P. Jackson line drive out of midair for the second out of the inning. UC took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the third when Joey Bielek hit a two-out three-run homer to left field.

Rod led off the top of the fourth and moved to third via a sac bunt by Moore and a ground out by Elwell. Paligraf brought the XU left fielder home with a two-out single that tied the game at 3-3.

The Bearcats regained the lead (4-3) in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out RBI double by Justin Glass.

Seth Dawes led off the eighth with a pinch-hit single and moved to second on a well-placed sac bunt by Rod. Mark Elwell's two-out single through the middle gave Dawes the chance to score with a strong slide into home that tied the game at 4-4.
