Musketeers face in-state rivial Miami on Tuesday.

CINCINNATI- The Xavier baseball team suffered a 3-1 defeat to the Toledo Rockets on Sunday at Hayden Field. The Musketeers’ (6-12) offense fell short and wasn’t able to complete their first series sweep of the season.
Junior Tyler Koors (1-2) went five innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts. Koors gave up both runs and four of his six hits allowed in the third inning.
Koors let up a double to start off the third inning and was followed by a pair of singles to drive in the first run. Later in the inning, a double down the left field line drove in the second run of the game.
The Musketeers got their run in the sixth inning off of a sacrifice fly by sophomore Joey Noble. Noble hit a deep fly ball to right field to which Brian Bruening tagged up and scored the only run for Xavier.
Jared Locke of Toledo was the winning pitcher after he threw 5.2 innings allowing only one earned run for the Rockets.
