Patrick Paligraf hits a sacrifice fly to defeat Toledo Saturday afternoon in 12 innings.

CINCINNATI -- The Musketeers won their second straight game Saturday afternoon with a 3-2 win over Toledo in 12 innings. Xavier (6-11) earned the win off a RBI sacrifice fly by Patrick Paligraf that scored sophomore Michael Moore in the bottom of the 12th.
Senior Alex Vice earned the win in one inning of relief action to improve to 1-2 on the season. Starter Jon Richard pitched 7.2 innings and allowed only one run while fanning two Rocket batters. Junior Seth Willoughby struck out four Toledo batters in 3.1 innings of play.
Toledo got on the board in the top of the first but the Musketeers battled back in the bottom of the second when Mitch Elliot plated Derek Hasenbeck with a single. Xavier took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third when Brian Bruening brought home Daniel Rod with a sac fly.
The Rockets tied the game in the top of the eighth but the Musketeers rallied in the bottom of the 12th to earn the win.
Elliot led the way for Xavier offensively as he went 2-for-5 at the plate with a RBI.
Xavier will be looking for the sweep Sunday as they host the Rockets in a 12 p.m. tilt.
