March 14, 2010
COLUMBIA, Mo. - After going up by two runs early, the Xavier baseball team used a three-run seventh inning to ensure its 5-1 win over Missouri Sunday afternoon at UM's Taylor Stadium. The Musketeers nearly completed the shutout, keeping the Tigers scoreless until the ninth inning.
Xavier (2-12) put up a single run in the first as senior Drew Schmidt reached first on a Missouri throwing error and made it to second on a failed pick off attempt. With Lindgren at the plate, Schmidt was sent to third on a balk and was brought home when Lindgren doubled down the left line and the Musketeers held the 1-0 advantage heading into the bottom of the first.
Lindgren was walked in the third, moving junior John McCambridge, who had reached on a single, over to second. Junior Ben Thomas was safe at first on a fielder's choice, Lindgren was out on the play, but McCambridge was able to make it all the way home on an error by the Tigers' shortstop. After two and half, XU was leading, 2-0.

The Musketeers held onto the 5-0 advantage through the ninth inning.
With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, the Tigers tried to put together a rally but fell short, only putting up one run. The last our of the game was a 1-3 put-out as XU took the 5-1 win.
