Xavier knocked off Cincinnati in the first of a two-game mid-week series. A couple of big plays were the difference in the 4-1 victory.
Seth Dawes hit his first home run of the season and Brian Bruening cut down a run at the plate with a great throw from right field. The Musketeers dropped the contest however, 5-2.
The swimming league championships highlight the Musketeers' Olympic sports weekend. Both tennis teams are in action and the baseball squad heads to Charleston, S.C.

Prior to Xavier: Four-year varsity member of the Chillicothe baseball team ... Maintained the highest batting average all four years, posting a .420 average for his career, and was a four-time winner of the team's Leading Hitter Award ... Earned SEOAL Player of the Year honors following his senior season ... Named an All-League selection and to the All-District First Team four- consecutive years ... Played catcher, first base, third base and pitched during his tenure under head coach Marty Dunn ... Also played four seasons of basketball and holds the record for most games played in a career (96) ... Helped lead his team to the Division II state championship title ... Ranks in the top 10 in school history in free-throw percentage, rebounding and scoring ... An All-League and All-District First Team selection in 2009.
