CINCINNATI - Xavier cross country runner Clare Fischer has been selected by the NCAA committee to race in next weekend's Championship meet after a career performance at the Great Lakes Regional. Fischer finished 18th overall with a time of 20:47, her personal best. She was also able to lead her team to a 10th place finish, the team's all-time best at a regional.

"Making the finals of the NCAA Championship has been a long-term goal that Clare has been working towards for the past three years and one that she's come close to accomplishing in both track and cross country," said Head Coach Ryan Orner. "As one of the 38 individuals selected to compete in the finals of the NCAA Cross Country Championship, Clare has distinguished herself as an elite college distance runner."

Fischer will challenge the top runners from across the country at the NCAA Championship meet next weekend. The meet will take place Saturday, Nov. 23 at Indiana State and is scheduled for a noon start time.
