CINCINNATI - Senior Keith Albrektson and sophomore Tom Ohlman were named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team today, which was announced Monday by the league's home office.
The men's top two runners become the first teammates from Xavier to be named to the cross country academic team. At the conference meet two weekends ago the pair also became the Musketeers' first set of runners to earn All-Conference honors together as well.
Ohlman, a Carmel, Ind. native, is the only sophomore to have made the six-person team. In addition to his 10th overall finish at this year's league run he sports a 3.18 GPA and is currently undecided on his major. In addition to his classroom achievement Ohlman has been the top finisher in five of the Musketeers' six races this season and posted personal best times in the 5-, 8-, and 10-kilometer races this season.
Albrektson earned his first Atlantic 10 honors this season placing 15th at the conference meet. This has been a banner year for the Louisville, Ky. native who has posted personal best in four difference distances. The four-time A-10 Commissioner Honor Roll member has a 3.58 GPA and will graduate with a degree in biology.
