Men’s Cross Country Team Flies Past Competition In Cardinal Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky.---The Xavier University men's cross country team earned an eighth place finish out of a field of 18 teams in the University of Louisville Cardinal Classic with a score of 209 points.

Xavier finished the 8000 meter race as a group with all five runners finishing within a fifteen second period. Drew LaMaster (Prospect, KY/South Oldham) was Xavier’s top finisher with a time of 26:29 to place 44th overall. Junior Michael Doran (Louisville, KY/Trinity) followed closely in placing 47th with a time of 26:33. Lone senior Josh Masters (Toledo, OH/Sylvania Northview) placed 50th in 26:39. Chris Tieke (Cincinnati/Glen Este) earned 54th with a time of 26:42. Freshman Paul Staudigel (Cincinnati/Elder) followed Tieke closely to the finish line and concluded the day for Xavier Cross Country in finishing with a time of 26:43 to place 56th overall.

On Friday, both the men's and women's teams head to Delaware, Ohio to compete in the All Ohio Championship.
