Three School Records Fall at Bobcat Invitational
ATHENS, Ohio – Sophomore Megan Uhl turned in a first place finish while also shattering the school record with a time of 10:41.92 in the 3,000-meter run as the Xavier University men’s and women’s track teams competed at the at the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Ohio University on Saturday.
The women’s 4x400-meter relay of Kristin Hoff, Lindsey Lander, Shelly Dickinson and Uhl broke the school record by nine seconds as they finished third at 4:17.42. Hoff turned in the final school record of the night on the women’s side in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.45.
On the men’s side, Nate Showman, Michael Raidt, Greg Reichert and Mike Hammersmith had the second-fastest time in the program’s history in the 4x400-meter relay (3:37.12). Dan Dalic and Hammersmith each recorded personal best times in the 800-meter run with times of 2:03.64 and 2:03.11, respectively. Senior Drew LaMaster also ran well with a runner-up finish in the 1,500-meter run as he finished in 4:06.40, which was just off his school record time of 4:05.85.
The Musketeers will return to the track for the final time of the season when Xavier opens up action at the 2005 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, which begin on Saturday, May 7 at the University of Richmond.
