Staudigel Shatters 3000 Meter School Record at Arizona State Invitational
TEMPE, Ariz.---The Xavier University track teams competed in the Arizona State Invitational at Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe, Arizona on Friday.
On the women's side of the 3000 meter steeplechase, Kristin Hoff ran 12:25.01 and Leah Mock finished shortly after Hoff with a 13:41.73. In the men's event, Paul Staudigel was the fastest Musketeer with a 10:07.94 and Chris Tieke posted a 10:23.48. Kelly Sraj was the top Xavier runner in the 1500 meter run in finishing with a 5:04.46. Freshman Megan Uhl ran 5:05.98 while Jennifer Lemon had a 5:59.63. Drew LaMaster posted a 4:08.84 and Dan Cihal a 4:20.24 in the men's 1500 meter run. Jeff Dorr and Michael Doran ran 4:28.80 and 4:28.81 respetively. Ryan Schutte was the fifth Musketeer in the race to finish with a 4:33.93. Kristin Hoff was the lone Musketeer in the 800 meter run. Hoff finished with a 2:30.87. Kelly Sraj ran a 11:13.44 in the 3000 meter run. Sarah Rodenbeck finished shortly after Sraj with a time of 11:56.81. Seven Musketeers ran in the men's 3000 meter run, with Paul Staudigel recording the fastest time. Staudigel finished in 8:59.90, while senior Matt Graham finished eleven seconds later with a 9:11.10. Junior Drew LaMaster and Chris Tieke finished with a 9:15.25 and 9:18.83 respectively. Dan Cihal posted a 9:30.08. Greg Dickman ran a 9:43.97, while Michael Doran finished the race in 9:51.90 Four members of the Xavier track team broke the school record for 3000 meters, previously held by Dan Cihal.
