CINCINNATI- The Xavier track and field teams will be competing at the Sea Ray Relays this weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee. Hosted by the University of Tennessee, the Musketeers will face their toughest competition of the season thus far.

Although the competition will be constant for the Musketeers, there are still some individuals who hope to better their personal records and school records in their event. Junior Tom Ohlman will be running the 1500-meter run looking to break the school record he set at the Early Bird Relays with a time of 3:54.65. Junior Craig Krcal will also be looking to improve his school record distance of 52.15-meters in the javelin this weekend.

For the women, Onya Edwards will face the toughest competition of her Musketeer career this weekend in both the long jump and triple jump. The freshman from Lake Wylie, South Carolina holds both the long jump and triple jump records in both outdoor and indoor track and field. The 4x800-meter relay team that will compete this weekend will also look to rewrite the school record books. Juniors Clare Fischer and Abby Fischer, known as outstanding distance runners, will join junior Madison Riethman and a runner to be decided in an attempt to run a new school record time.

Other competitors for the Musketeers to keep an eye on include: sophomore Ryan Konstanzer (400-meter), junior Nick Kobunski (Fast Heat of the 800-meter), junior Spencer Liechty (10,000-meter), junior Anna Ahlrichs (3000-meter Steeplechase), and senior captain Rachel Clark (Showcase section of the 800-meter).

For a select few, this nationally renowned meet will be great preparation for the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California next weekend. The rest of the Musketeer track and field team will eye success at the Jesse Owens Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
