CINCINNATI - The Xavier track and field team coming off a record-breaking meet will travel four hours south on Interstate 75 to run in the 46th Annual Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
Senior Emily Tyler and junior Marikka Joseph are slated to start the meet for the Musketeers when they run in the women's 100-meter hurdles beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday. Several other events including sprints, hurdles, and distance runs will take place on Friday. In all the Musketeers are schedule to participate in 16 events on Friday.
Saturday will feature five relay events and three field events for the Musketeers. The women have entered teams in the 4x200- and 4x800-meter relays. The men have teams competing in the 4x100-, 4x200-, and 4x800-meter relays. Xavier will have athletes competing in the men's long jump and high jump, as well as the women's shot put
The Musketeers are coming into this meet after setting five school records last weekend at the Stanford Invitational. Junior Rachel Clark broke records in the women's 800-meter dash and 1,500-meter run, sophomore Ashley Vincent shattered the women's 5,000-meter record, and sophomore Clare Fischer established a new best in the women's 10,000-meter run. Sophomore Tom Ohlman set a new men's record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
