2013 Hoosier Hills Events/Participants

CINCINNATI- The Xavier track and field teams are set to leave for Bloomington, Indiana for the final time this indoor season as they will compete at the Hoosier Hills meet this weekend. This is the final tune-up for the Musketeers before they go to Rhode Island for the A-10 Championships.

Some of Xavier's top runners will be sitting out this weekend in preparation for the A-10's next week, but the Musketeers will still have strong competitors in number of events this weekend.

Expected to compete for the women's side is juniors Anna Ahlrichs and Audrey Ramos in the one mile and both will be shooting for a sub-5:10 mile to improve their heat placement for the A-10 Championships. Freshman Onya Edwards will take part in both the long jump and triple jump and look to continue to work toward rewriting her own records in those events. She set both the long jump and triple jump at the Findlay Open with a distance of 38'08.74" in the triple jump and 17'00.75" in the long jump. Also, in the 4x400-meter relay, the team of freshmen Emily Wolery and Christine Lucas, sophomore Samantha Birchfield and senior captain Kaitlin Price will run their first race together.


 

 

Participants on the men's side to look forward to include sophomores Corey Zielinski, Connor Buchholz, and Matt Orlando, who after having last weekend off, are expected to put up good times this weekend. Sophomore Nick Bartram will run in the 400-meter and look to continue to improve after suffering an injury earlier on this season. Bartram will run with classmate Ryan Konstanzer as well as seniors Evan Betts and David Gibson in the 4x400-meter relay later in the weekend. Finally, junior Craig Krcal will be in the pole vault event for the second straight week and looking to get his name alongside the conference best this weekend.
