CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's and women's track and field squad is currently participating in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational hosted by The Armory in New York City. Over 200 colleges and universities are represented including perennial powerhouses Texas A&M, University of Texas, Baylor and LSU. Fellow Atlantic 10 schools Fordham, Temple and Charlotte have also made the trip up to the "Big Apple".

With this being such a large meet, entries for participation were based on time qualifications. XU will be participating in 19 events. Xavier record holders Tommy Kauffmann, Nick Williams, Evan Betts, Caitlin Thomas, Emily Tyler, Brittani Peltz, and Susannah Shelley will be competing with top-caliber competition.

The Musketeers sent athletes to the New Balance Collegiate Invitational last season and Kauffmann, Thomas and Peltz all set school records. Kauffmann ran a lifetime best in the 5,000 meters placing third overall with a time of 14:23.95. Thomas finished fifth in the 5,000 meters posting a time of 17:36.22. Peltz set a new standard in the 400 meters with a 58.03 time.

The Armory website will be web streaming live coverage during both days of the meet. You can access the feed by clicking here.
