CINCINNATI - The Xavier track and field returns to the Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington, Ind., site of last week's meet, this time to compete in the Indiana University Relays on Friday and Saturday.
This will be the fourth meet of the indoor season for the Musketeers who ran on the 200-meter banked track last week at the Gladstein Invite. Four school records fell in that meet with sophomore Ashley Vincent setting a new mark in the women's 3,000-meter, senior Nick Williams breaking the men's 60-meter dash time, sophomore Adi Taraska throwing three-straight records in the women's weight throw, and sophomore Evan Betts tied his time in the men's 60-meter high hurdles.
The meet begins at 3 p.m. on Friday with several field events and the running of the preliminaries in the men's and women's 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash. Like last week the invitational events in several distances. The day wraps up at 8:45 p.m. with the running of the distance medley relays.
Saturday's events begin at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw and the finals of the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles. For the first time this season Xavier will run in a meet featuring a 4x800-meter relay, which precedes the 4x400-meter relays that will conclude the event.
