Kauffmann is ranked 10th in the region and 1st in the A-10 in the 3,000 meters

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's track and field squad has earned a regional ranking for the first time in program history, earning No. 15 in the Great Lakes region in the most recent U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association poll. Five individuals as well as the distance medley relay team are ranked regionally.
Senior Tommy Kauffmann's school record 8:17.88 3,000 meter time at the All-Ohio Championships gives him the 10th best time in the region. Kauffmann is ranked first in the Atlantic 10 conference at that distance.
Junior sprinter Nick Williams is No. 18 in the region and No. 2 in the A-10 in the 200 meter dash after he posted a school-record time of 22.02 at the Golden Flash Invitational.
Long distance runners Hank Geer, Ben Foley and Joe Ryan are ranked 10th, 12th and 17th in the region respectively in the 5,000 meter distance. Geer's season-best time of 15:05.65 puts him at No. 3 in the conference while Foley's 15:07.86 gives him No. 4. Ryan is eighth in the conference with a season-best time of 15:48.48.
The distance medley relay team of Keith Albrektson, Ryan Ulmer, Nick Kobunski and Kauffmann are ranked No. 8 in the region after turning in a time of 10:44.63 at the Doug Raymond Invitational. The team is No. 3 in the Atlantic 10.
The Xavier men join only three other A-10 school ranked in their respective region. The Temple Owls are No. 15 in the Mid-Atlantic, the Rhode Island Rams are No. 4 in the Northeast and the Charlotte 49ers are No. 13 in the Southeast.
