KENT, Ohio -The Xavier track and field teams ran for the first time this season and had several strong performances at the second day of the Golden Flash Gala hosted by Kent State on Saturday.

Seniors Brittani Peltz and Nick Williams, as well as sophomore Evan Betts, were the front runners for the Musketeers. Other individuals who had strong performances include Kelsey Erlenbaugh and Hank Geer.

Peltz clocked a 40.82 in the 300-meter dash and took the third-place finish. Williams ran in the finals of the men's 60-meter dash after qualifying in the quarterfinals. His final time was 7.07 as he placed 14th in the event. Williams also came in eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.41.

Betts, who had only one practice in the hurdles before this meet, came in 14th during the 60-meter hurdles. He posted an 8.72 in the qualifying round and an 8.82 in the finals.

Geer, who missed the cross country season, had a time of 9:05.13 in the 3,000-meter run.

Erlenbaugh had a fifth-place finish in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.24.
