LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior Rachel Clark and sophomore Abby Fischer of the Xavier track and field women's team ran at the Cardinal Twilight on Friday and inched their qualifying times closer towards the bubble for the NCAA East Regional.

Clark set another school record in the 1,500-meter run with her time of 4:27.39. She finished fourth out of 23 runners in the event. Her time is ranked 110th in the east qualifier list as of Friday night.

Fischer established a personal best 17:04.92 in the 5,000 meters. She also notched a fourth place finish for the Musketeers. Her time is the 153rd fastest among east regional runners this year.

Both runners will now have to wait and see if they have qualified for the regional meet. The top 48 times of runners declaring for a race will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. for the meet. Sophomore Ashley Vincent is also in the consideration to run in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the three-day meet.
