VILLANOVA, Pa. - Mercedes Oliver broke her second school record in as many days at the BIG EAST Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships presented by New York Life and both men's and women's teams finished seventh in the event.

Oliver's throw of 14.10m in the shot put was good for a second-place finish, and provided her with a second school record after eclipsing Xavier's previous mark in the hammer throw. The sophomore also took home third in the women's discuss.

Clare Fischer and Jessica Albers claimed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the women's 5000m. Fischer's time of 16:44.19 was a personal record and helped prepare her for an appearance in the 10,000m at the NCAA First Rounds, which take place in three weeks.

The women's 4x100 team of Monica Mannings, Kristine Johnson, Brenna McGrath and Onya Edwards also brought home fifth with a time of 50.56.

Xavier added two sixth-place finishes from Adrija Taraska in the shot put and the 4x400m relay team. Sydney Larkin, Johnson, McGrath and Susannah Shelley combined to post a time of 3:59.90. Shelley anchored the team with a 57.9 second split, an impressive feat given that this race occurred just moments after she ran the leadoff leg on XU's 4x800 relay.

Emily Staresinic, Madison Reithman and Haley Jerabek combined with Shelley in the 4x800 to register a time of 9:12.11, good for eighth place.

The men's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams each placed fifth. Matt Bryant, Russell Platt, Dimitrious Dimitroff and Ryan Konstanzer partnered in the 4x100, while Konstanzer, Brett Neugebauer, Josh Phelan and Nick Kobunski each ran season-best splits to register the fastest time this season by the Musketeers in the 4x4 (3:24.26).

XU grabbed two more sixth-place showings in the pole vault thanks to Neugebauer and 4x800 relay after Grant Parrelli, Matt Orlando, Corey Zielinksi and Connor Bucholz posted a time of 7:49.29. Dimitroff finished seventh for Xavier in the 100m final, clocking a time of 11.14 seconds.

The Musketeers return home and begin preparation for the Cardinal Twilights hosted by the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky., on May 16.
