CINCINNATI - The Xavier University men's and women's track teams competed Saturday and Sunday at the Atlantic 10 Championship at the Track and Field Complex on the campus of the University of Massachusetts. Eight school records were broken during the two day meet.

The men's 4x800-meter relay team of junior Luke Beuerlein, freshmen Ben Nathan and Sam Lewis and junior Clinton Womack set a new school-record in 7:50.03 which was highlighted by Womack's split time of 1:53.75. The 4x400-meter relay team also broke the previous school record in 3:21.52 and finished ninth in the event. The team was comprised of freshman Ryan Ulmer, Nathan, Lewis and Womack. Ulmer, sophomore Derek LeBlanc, Lewis and junior Dan Magness broke the 4x100-meter relay time in 43.95 and finished sixth.

Individually on the men's side Madness ran a record-setting 57.29 in the 400-meter hurdles. Senior Ben Milroy had a top-ten all-time conference championship performance in the 10,000-meter race. He finished eighth in the star studded field which saw four individuals break the all-time best time. Ben dropped another twenty-one seconds off the school record he earned at the All-Ohio Championship just two weeks ago. His time was 30:54.10. Sophomore Drew Kaiser and Freshman Joe Ryan also set personal best with times of 31:39.99 and 33:32.26 respectively in the same event.

Beuerlein broke his own school-record which he established at last year's A-10 Championship in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The Cincinnati, Ohio native placed sixth in a new personal-best and school-record time of 9:11.26.  Senior Tony Matheus closed out his Track career with a personal best of 9:53.12.

Other notable men's finishes came in the 800-meter run where Womack ran his second fastest time ever in 1:53.87 while Nathan and Lewis both ran personal-best times of 1:54.61 and 1:55.71, respectively.

On the women's side freshman Christina Schneider shattered the school-record in the 10,000-meter run while earning second place. Schneider completed the twenty-five lap race in 36:47.28, breaking the old record by thirty-seconds previously held by senior Amanda Brown. For the fourth year in a row, Brown placed in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 37:29.54. She is the first Xavier runner to place in the same event for four straight years.
