Melanie Price starts her fifth season with the Xavier cross country and track programs. During her four years at Xavier she has helped five athletes qualify for the NCAA Regional track meet. She has also trained three A-10 champions, one A-10 runner-up, nine A-10 Performers of the Week, 12 A-10 Rookies of the Week, and six Academic All-Conference athletes. She continues to push the distance runners to new heights as they continuously break records and run personal bests.

In conjunction with coaching the athletes at Xavier University, Price will also be volunteer coaching with Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is a life-changing, character development program for 3rd - 8th grade girls in the Greater Cincinnati area. She will teach them that through exercise they can build self-confidence, achieve goals they set for themselves, and grow as a person no matter what limitations are set upon them. She is excited to take on this new role in the community.

Before joining the Musketeers, Price enjoyed a successful career at Ohio State. While at Ohio State, she proved to be one of the Buckeyes' top cross country runners throughout her four years, never finishing lower than fourth among the Buckeyes at the Big Ten Championships. She ran her fastest time of 21:43 at the National Invite at Penn State University.

Price was also a standout in track for Ohio State, competing as one of its top distance runners. She set a school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as a sophomore, qualifying for the NCAA Regional with a time of 10:46. While at OSU she ran 4:39 (1500), 4:57 (1600), 10:11 (3000). She was also part of the Indoor Record Setting DMR where they placed fifth at the Big Ten meet, running a time of 11:47.

Showing her skills in the classroom, as well, Price earned Academic All-Big Ten, Academic All-American and OSU Scholar-Athlete honors while with the Buckeyes.

Price, 26, earned her Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University and her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University. She serves as the Business Coordinator at Fosdick & Hilmer.
