CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's and women's swimming teams are heading to Akron, Ohio to compete in the 2007 Zippy Invitational hosted by the University of Akron. The three-day competition begins on Friday, Nov. 30, and will feature 18 teams from five different conferences. All 40 events will take place in the Ocasek Natatorium.

In addidtion to Xavier's men and women's teams, the Atlantic 10 Conference brings two other schools including the men's and women's teams from Duquesne and the men from St. Bonaventure.

Along with Akron, the Mid-American Conference is represented by the University of Buffalo men's and women's teams and the women of Ohio University.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Missouri Valley Conference have lone representatives. From the MAAC come both the men and women from Niagara University and representing the MVC are the Illinois State women.

The invitational also welcomes three schools from Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The PSAC representatives are the men and women's teams from Bloomsburg, Clarion and Shippensburg Universities.
