Matt Young Named A-10 Rookie of the Week
Freshman earns first Atlantic 10 Honor of the Season for Xavier Swimming

CINCINNATI---On Monday afternoon, the Atlantic 10 Conference named Xavier Freshman Swimmer Matt Young (Mt. Washington, KY/St. Xavier) as the A-10 Rookie of the Week. In the dual meet on Saturday, November 17 at Miami with Valparaiso, Young led the Musketeers to a win over Valparaiso.

Young finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.90) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.57). He also finished second in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:13.36.

The Miami meet concluded the fall dual meet schedule for the Xavier Swim Team. They complete the fall season at the Akron Invitational November 30th through December 2nd. On Friday and Saturday, prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m., while on Sunday prelims begin at 9:00 a.m. and finals at 4:00 p.m.
