CINCINNATI -Xavier men's and women's swimming teams will take to the road and head to Louisville, Ky., for its second meet of the young season on Friday. The Musketeers opened the season two weeks ago at the Butler Fall Invite. The Cardinals will host the meet, which is scheduled for a 5 p.m. ET start, at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.

XU will then face Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky., on Saturday at 2 p.m. This marks just the second season of swimming for Cumberlands, after the program began just last year. The Musketeers hold the distinction of being the first opponent ever for the Patriots after the two programs met on Oct. 13 a year ago.

Several young Musketeers had solid outings in the opening meet, but this meet will provide a good test for XU. Louisville's women's team begins the season ranked 16th in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's Preseason Poll, while the men's 2013 recruiting class was ranked eighth in the nation.

Mackenna Rife, Carolyn Stewart and Claire Brolsma picked up wins for the women's squad at the Butler Fall Invite. Nick Strader, Rodrigo Suriano and Chad Thompson earned victories for the men's side, while Suriano, Armando Moss, Luke Johanns and Eric Dirvin combined to take the 400 free relay.
