Xavier's Moss To Represent Bahamas In World University Games

CINCINNATI - Xavier University swimmer Armando Moss was selected to represent his home country of the Bahamas at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia. He will participate in the 50 and 100 Freestyle as well as the 50 and 100 Butterfly. The event begins with Opening Ceremonies on July 4th, with the swimming portion of the competition slated to start for July 10-16.

Some of the fastest swimmers of a college age in the world will compete at the event. Preliminary heats will be conducted, with the top 16 advancing to the semifinals. The top 8 times in the semifinals will qualify to compete in the Championship.

"This is a huge opportunity for Armando and a big step in our program," said Xavier swimming head coach Brent MacDonald. "International competition is the pinnacle of our sport and we're so excited to have one of our athletes reach that level."
