GENEVA, Ohio - Freshman Luke Johanns capped a strong morning for the Xavier swim team in the preliminaries of the second day of the Atlantic 10 Championships by breaking the school record in the 50 free. Johanns topped Jamie Christman's time of 20.52 set in 1995 by posting a time of 20.47.

Mackenna Rife reached the B final of the 500 free, posting a preliminary time of 4:58.71. Nick Foster posted a time of 4:33.46, making the A final of the men's 500 free. Landon Graham (4:34.70) and Alex Huff (4:35.30) will swim in the B final as well.

Four Musketeers on the men's send will return to the pool this evening for the finals of the 200 IM. Fresh off both relay and individual team records on the first day, Sam Conchuratt led the field in the preliminaries after posting a time of 1:50.67. Chad Thompson (1:51.10) and Michael Gordon (1:52.39) finished third and sixth, respectively, to join Conchuratt in the A final. Eric Drivin will represent X in the B Finals.

Pablo Morejon also made the A final of the 50 free with a time of 20.66. Xavier will be represented by John Kinney (20.94) in the B final as well.

Tonight's finals will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 200 free relay for both the men's and women's teams.
