NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Xavier swimming freshman Kiernan McGeehan was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after a strong performance this past weekend at IUPUI and the Butler Invitational. This is the first such nod for McGeehan in his career, and only the second time this season a Musketeer has been honored by the A-10. Classmate Eric Dirvin earned the distinction Nov. 14.

McGeehan, the freshman from Carmel, Ind., posted four top-three finishes this past weekend including two victories in the 1,000 yard freestyle (9:52.29) and the 1,650 yard freestyle (16:30.43).

The Musketeers are back in action this weekend as they travel to Wright State for a meet Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.
