Musketeers Split Victories At CSU
Men Win Against Duquesne, Women Win Against CSU

CLEVELAND- The Musketeer swim teams split victories at Cleveland State in dual meet action against both Cleveland State and Duquesne on Saturday. Xavier's men won 122-83 against Duquesne and lost 112-90 against Cleveland State while the women were victorious 132-73 against Cleveland State and lost 129-76 against Duquesne.

XU's men finished with four first place finishes on the afternoon.

David Janszen finished with two first place finishes one of which came in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:44.72. The other came in the 400 Freestyle Relay where Janszen teamed with Neil Reierson, Kyle Hawley and Matthew Normile where the team finished with a time of 3:13.32.

Hawley added a first place finish of his own in the 200 Butterfly with a winning time of 1:55.18.

Junior Matt Young rounded out the first place winners for the men with a time of 2:11.85 in the 200 Breaststroke.

The Musketeer women finished first in three of the afternoon's events.

Senior Angie Hinrichs finished first in two events on the day. Winning the 50 Freestyle with a time of 24.72 and the 100 Freestyle with a time of 53.75.

Also with a first place finish was Krystel Kooyman who finished with a time of 2:25.71 in the 200 Breaststroke.

Finishing strong with second place victories were juniors Becky Faust and Janet Heil.

Faust finished with a time of 2:12.95 in the 200 IM while Heil had a time of 2:09.01

The Musketeer women will return to action against Marshall at O'Connor Sports Center on January 22 at 6:00 and the men will return in dual meet action for Senior Day on January 24 at 1:00 also at O'Connor.
