Senior Sam Conchuratt put together two top-50 performances at the AT&T Winter Nationals in Austin, Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas - At the AT&T Winter Nationals, senior Sam Conchuratt led four Xavier swimmers by putting together a pair of times that rank among the best in the Atlantic 10 this season. Carolyn Stewart, Chad Thompson and Knox Hitt joined Conchuratt at the prestigious swim meet that featured Olympians Ryan Lochte, Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky.
In a field of the top 74 swimmers in the country, Conchuratt posted a time of 1:51.65 in the 200 Individual Medley. His time earned him a 48th-place finish and ranks among the top times in the A-10. Conchuratt finished 43rd in a 66-swimmer field in the 100 Butterfly, again posting one of the better times in the A-10 (49.93).
Hitt, a freshman, also raced in the 100 fly, finishing 56th with a time of 50.97.
Joining Conchuratt in the 200 IM, Thompson touched in 60th with a time of 1:53.24. The junior also swam in the men's 200 Backstroke, posting a time of 1:51.60 and finishing 51st.
Stewart, the lone representative from the women's team, swam in the 100- and 200-Yard Backstroke events. Her time of 57.55 placed her 64th in the 100 back, while a time of 2:08.57 was good for a 61st-place finish in the 200 back.
The Musketeers will begin preparing for races in January. Following a training trip to Florida at the end of December, Xavier's women's team will swim at IUPUI on January 11 at 6 p.m. The men will not be in action again until a trip to Cleveland State on Jan. 12 at 1 p.m.
