Sophomore Nathan Green was a significant contributer for Xavier with several first place finishes in both individual and relay events

INDIANAPOLIS - The Xavier men's and women's swim teams wrapped up competition at IUPUI Saturday afternoon after two days of dual meets versus A-10 foe Saint Louis, UW-Milwaukee and host IUPUI. Over the course of the two-day event, the men's team won two of its six dual meets while the women won four of its six match-ups.
On Friday, the men picked up a 75-30 win over host IUPUI but fell to A-10 foe Saint Louis (47.5-63.5) and UW-Milwaukee (44-61). The team of sophomore Terence Mahon, senior Matt Marcus, sophomore John Roof and freshman Austin Gulledge touched first in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:36.88 while sophomore Nathan Green took first place in the 200 Free (1:43.63).
In Saturday's events, the men again defeated IUPUI (73-32) and lost to Saint Louis (48-63) and UW-Milwaukee (35-70). Green took home a first-place finish in the 1650 Free event with a time of 16:27.28 and freshman Michael Zennedjian touched first in the 400 IM (4:14.62). Also on Saturday, Roof placed first in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:57.25.
During the fist day of the meet, the women's team defeated IUPUI (76-35) and conference rival Saint Louis (60-51) but dropped a 69-42 decision to UW-Milwaukee. The women also took first place in the 200 Medley Relay as the team of sophomore Kari Peglar, junior Martha Cutter-Wilson, sophomore Bethanie Griffin and junior Alison Johnson turned in a time of 1:49.76. Also on Friday, several Musketeers touched second in their events, including senior Mary Catherine Mahon in the 100 Back (1:00.76).
On the second day of the meet, XU women defeated IUPUI (82-23) and Saint Louis (59-52) but fell to UW-Milwaukee (72-39). Mahon, Cutter-Wilson, senior Melissa Schriner and junior Elaina Suba teamed up to take first in the 400 Medley Relay (4:00.90). Cutter-Wilson also claimed first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:37.46.
Xavier does not have a diving team and therefor was unable to score any points for the diving events.
The Musketeers will return to action Dec. 5-7 when they travel to Akron, Ohio for the annual Zippy Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin with prelims at 11 a.m. on Friday.
