Women's Swimming Drops Dual Meet to Western Kentucky

CINCINNATI - The Xavier University women's swimming team collected a pair of first-place finishes, but dropped its home-opener to Western Kentucky, 67-26, on Friday evening at O'Conner Sports Center. The swim team returns to action Saturday afternoon when both the men and women entertain Saint Louis at 3 p.m. at the OSC.
Freshman Parissa Andideh took the gold in the 200 Breast for the Musketeers, winning the event in a time of 2:33.95. Xavier also collected points in the 400 Free Relay, as senior Jill Cooke, senior Krystel Kooyman, senior Dana Hunter and freshman Alison Johnson, turned in a first-place finish in a time of 3:42.92.
Xavier's 400 Medley Relay of freshman Elaina Suba, Kooyman, sophomore Jill Winhusen and junior Lindsay Jackson took second in 4:05.81. Cook also posted a second-place finish in the 200 Fly in 2:12.45. Sophomore Alissa Schriner was second in the 100 Free in 56.56.
The Billikens' visit to the O'Conner Sports Center on Saturday will be their first as members of the Atlantic 10.
