HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Xavier women's swim team fought hard but came up just short at Marshall Friday afternoon 157-105. Junior Anne Frigo had a strong outing, posting two singles first place finishes and a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

Frigo earned first in both the 50 and 100 freestyle competitions and teamed with Randi Windemuller, Courtney Shields, and Jaquelyn Misanik in the 200 free relay.

Xavier also took second and third in the 200 free relay and the top four spots in the 200 backstroke. Samantha Sloand was first in the 200 back with a time of 2:08.55, Carolyn Stewart took second in 2:10.51, Misanik took third in 2:14.82m and Grace Raynor took fourth in 2:15.51.

Stewart also posted a first place finish in the 100 backstroke in :58.91. She was followed by Sloand and Misanik.

Both the Xavier men and women's teams will be back in action Saturday as they host Wheeling Jesuit at 1 p.m.
