Swimming Splits With UC In Crosstown Meet

CINCINNATI -- The Xavier swim team split Friday's meet against crosstown rival Cincinnati Friday evening. The Xavier men took the win 167-96, while the Musketeer women came up just short 183-105. Juniors Anne Frigo, Courtney Shields, and Randi Windemuller teamed freshman Maddie Dayto win the women's 4x50 relay.

Freshman Erin Kirbytook first in the women's 500 freestyle in 5:15.63. Fellow rookie Brittany Morguelian took tops in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.72

In men's action, the Musketeers put on a strong performance. In the men's 200 medley relay juniors David Maxwell and Sam Conchuratt teamed with senior Chadeau Wilsonand fellow Bahamian sophomore Armondo Moss to take first place in 1:34.99.

The Musketeer men took all five top spots in the 200 freestyle with Eric Dirvin posting the top time. Moss took tops in the men's 100 freestyle, sophomore Chad Thompsonwon the 100 back, and Wilson earned first place in the 100 breaststroke.

The Musketeers continue competition Saturday at Miami.
