CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's swimming team wrapped up the 2011-12 regular season against Ohio University at O'Connor Sports Center on Feb. 3. The Musketeers were led by Anne Frigo who won an event and contributed on two relay teams.
"I thought this meet was one of our best end of season dual meets in a few years by the girls. The slightly different events allowed our girls to attack their races a little more aggressively with some very positive results. This was a very nice confidence booster for most of the ladies going into taper and conference."
Frigo won the 150 yard freestyle with a time of 1:24.93, nudging out the Ohio swimmer by 39 seconds. Frigo was also apart of the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Randi Windemuller, Courtney Shields and Carolyn Stewartthat came in first with a time of 1:40.77. Frigo swam the fastest split at 24.60. She anchored the 200 yard medley relay that finished second with a time of 1:50.05, turning in a 24.30 split.
In the 150 yard backstroke, rookie Jacquelyn Misanik came in second turning in a time of 1:34.33. Classmate Carolyn Stewart came in third in the 100 yard freestyle, touching the wall in 56.24. Courtney Cox turned in two third place performances, coming in at 8:35.26 in the 800 yard freestyle and 4:12.32 in the 400 yard freestyle.
