Volunteer Assistant Coach

Claire Archibald is in her first season as a volunteer coach for Xavier and head coach Brent MacDonald. Archibald comes to Xavier after a stellar four-year career at Kentucky, where she lettered every season and graduated this past May. In addition, Archibald was the 2012 recipient of the Frank G. Ham award for her contribution to swimming, academics and community.

Archibald represented her native country of South Africa as a Junior National Swimmer, attending Youth World Championships, World Cups and Junior African Championships. In front of her home nation of South Africa she won gold, silver and bronze medals in the 2004 FINA World Cup. She earned a silver and bronze medal during the FINA World Cup in Brazil in 2006. Archibald is also a South African national champion in the 100 m backstroke and a medal winner in the 200 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
