2010-11 Year in Review Accolades
October 29 - Women's Soccer Finishes Out Best Year Since 2006
The Xavier women's soccer team, under the guidance of first-year head coach Woody Sherwood, finished with its best season since 2006. The Musketeers' final record of 7-11-0 and 3-6-0 in the conference were the best since the 7-10-2 record they achieved in the 2006 season.

November 14 - Xavier's Slipper Fits; Musketeers Win A-10 Championship
The Xavier men's soccer team became the first No. 6 seed to win the Atlantic 10 Championship after defeating No. 2 seed La Salle, 2-0, capping an improbable season and tournament run. On their way to the program's first A-10 title, the Musketeers defeated the three top seeds. The victory also gave Xavier its first trip to the NCAA Tournament.

November 18 - Five Volleyball Players Named To A-10 All-Conference Teams
Stephanie Vorherr led a group of five Xavier volleyball players who were named to Atlantic 10 All-Conference teams. Vorherr was also named the Libero of the Year for the second consecutive year. In addition, Claire Paszkiewicz, Michelle Matia, Shannon Voors and Chelsea Campbell were named to a team. The five players were the most named to first and second teams in program history.

December 18 - Clary, West, and Prosser Enshrined into Hall of Fame
Former Xavier athletes Lauren Clary and David West, and the late George E. "Skip" Prosser former XU men's basketball head coach were inducted into the Xavier Athletic Hall of Fame.

December 18 - Holloway Goes For Triple Double In Skip Prosser Classic
Tu Holloway guided the Musketeers to victory with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-high 14 assists. The junior guard became the first player since David West to accomplish the feat.

February 19 - Holloway Notches Second Triple-Double Of The Year
Tu Holloway scored 26 points, hauled in 11 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists on his way to becoming the first Xavier player to record two career triple-doubles. At the time, Holloway was the only player in the country with two triple-doubles.

February 26 - Zennedjian Named Most Outstanding Performer At A-10 Swimming Championship
Michael Zennedjian swam his way to six medals at the A-10 Swimming and Diving Championship on his way to the conference's Most Outstanding Performance by a male athlete. Zennedjian earned three first place medals, two second place medals, and one third place medal.

February 27 - Hoops Wins Third-Straight A-10 Regular Season Title
The Xavier women's basketball team captured its third consecutive Atlantic 10 regular season title with a 73-66 win over Temple. The Musketeers finished the regular season with a spotless 14-0 record, the first team to ever post back-to-back undefeated seasons in A-10 history.

March 2 - Musketeers Clinch Fifth-Straight A-10 Regular Season Championship
Xavier men's basketball clinched a share of its fifth-straight Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship. It was the ninth regular season championship that the Musketeers had captured since joining the Atlantic 10 for the 1995-96 season. With the win, the Musketeers also secured the No. 1 seed in the A-10 Tournament.

March 6 - 18 - Xavier Goes On School-Record Winning Streak
Xavier baseball tied a school record by winning nine games in a row. The Musketeers' run was capped with an 11-9 win over then-No.19 Louisville.

March 7 - XU Captures Second-Straight A-10 Tournament Title
The Xavier women's basketball team completed a 17-0 Atlantic 10 season by wrapping up its second-consecutive and fourth conference tournament title in five seasons with a 67-60 victory over the Dayton Flyers.

March 17 - Men's Basketball Goes Dancing For Sixth Consecutive Season
The men's basketball program made its sixth-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, making it one of 12 schools in the nation to do so. The No. 6-seed Musketeers faced No. 11 Marquette in the second round of the tournament at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

March 29 - Holloway Piling Up Postseason Honors, Add Associated Press Third Team Honor
Junior guard Tu Holloway was named Third Team All-American by the Associated Press, adding to an extensive collection of All-America honors. In addition to this award Holloway received praise from Sporting News, Basketball Times, SI.com, CBSSports.com, FOXSports.com, and CollegeInsider.com. Holloway is the third Xavier player to earn AP first, second or third team honors and only the second to do it as an underclassman.

April 2 - Amber Harris Repeats As State Farm All-American, Ta'Shia Phillips Earns Honorable Mention
For the second consecutive year, Amber Harris has been named to the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team as announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. Ta'Shia Phillips also earned mention from the WBCA on the State Farm Coaches' Honorable Mention roster for the second straight year.

April 11 - Amber Harris and Ta'Shia Phillips Selected In WNBA Draft
Seniors Amber Harris and Ta'Shia Phillips made Xavier history by being selected fourth and eighth, respectively, in the 2011 WNBA Draft. Harris became Xavier's highest-drafted player, while Phillips becomes the second highest. (http://www.goxavier.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/041111aab.html)

April 20 - Amy Waugh Announced As Women's Basketball Head Coach
Amy Waugh was named the new head coach for the Xavier women's basketball program. She became the sixth head coach in program history, but just the first alumnus to take the helm. The former All-American guard spent two years as an assistant coach of XU before being handed the keys to the nationally-recognized program.

April 24 - Women's Golf Finishes In Third At CAA Championship
The Xavier women's golf team notched its second-highest ever finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. Breanna Patz led the Muskies with a tie in seventh place finish, while four out of five Musketeers finished in the top-20.

May 1 - Day Wins A-10 Individual Title in Sudden-Death Playoff
Herbert Day staged one of the more memorable moments as he won his first A-10 individual championship at the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship in a sudden-death playoff. Day became the first Musketeer to win the tournament since 2006.

May 7 - Kauffmann Captures 10K Title On First Day Of A-10 Championship
Senior Tommy Kauffmann became the first Xavier male athlete to win an outdoor track and field individual championship, as he ran away from the competition on the final lap of the 10,000-meter run at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Kauffmann turned in a time of 29:54.09, which bested the second-place finisher by four seconds.

May 24 - Xavier Teams Perform Well in Latest APR Scores
Musketeer teams continued to shine amongst their peers in the latest Academic Progress Rates. Four Xavier teams earned perfect scores, while five others narrowly missed the mark. In all, eight teams were ranked in the top 25 of their respective sports.

May 24 - Thomas Named POY, Five Musketeers Earn A-10 Honors
Xavier senior first baseman Ben Thomas was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player while senior center fielder John McCambridge, sophomore third baseman Seth Willoughby, freshman right fielder Brian Bruening and freshman pitcher Vinny Nittoli were also named to all-conference teams. Thomas is the first-ever Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in baseball for Xavier.
