Practice will begin September 10, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Tryout Requirements 2011-12
Women will be asked to perform:
• Display of spirit, enthusiasm, smiles, loud voices and sharp motions.
• Sideline Chants (to be taught at tryouts).
• Dance (to be taught at tryouts).
• Minimum tumbling required for Blue Squad, preferred for White Squad: standing back handspring with correct form and round-off back handspring series with correct form. In addition to these you will also be asked to show more advanced tumbling such as standing back tuck and round-off back handspring back tuck (preferred).
• Minimum stunting required: You will be asked to perform a collegiate level (group and/or co-ed) stunts involving 1, 2 or 3 bases. These include straight up extensions, liberties, heel stretches, cupies, aerobesques, retakes, transitions and cradles. In order to be considered for Blue Squad tops must perform a chair and preferably walk-in or toss hands. Bases and Backs preferred to perform a chair.
Men will be asked to perform:
• Display spirit, enthusiasm, smiles and loud voices.
• Sideline chant motions (to be taught at tryouts).
• Fight Song motions (to be taught at tryouts).
• Minimum stunting requirements: You will be asked to perform a collegiate level (group and/or co-ed) stunts involving 1, 2 or 3 bases. These include straight up extensions, liberties, heel stretches, cupies, aerobesques, retakes, transitions and cradles. Co-ed includes chair. Toss or walk-in to hands, cradles, extensions and more elite skills are preferred.
Important Information:
• Please let the coaches know if you are able to successfully perform more than one position in stunts (example: top and base). You may be asked to do a different position throughout the year other than the one you tried out for.
• Coaches reserve the right to make changes for any reason if necessary.
• Blue (Men's BB) and White (Women's BB) Squads will not be selected until after the fall tryout.
• Attire: Women - form fitting clothing, hair half up with bow and game ready make up. Men - Shorts and T-Shirt (not to baggy).
