04/21/2012 Scholar-Athlete AwardsXavier student-athletes were honored today at the Scholar-Athlete Awards Program which is part of the university's All Honors Day. Kim Powers Hoyt is entering her ninth year in Xavier's student-athlete academic advising office and her first as the director of support services. Her job responsibilities include overseeing the Student-Athlete Academic Support Services Office and doing the academic advising for women's basketball, baseball, volleyball and men's and women's tennis. Powers Hoyt also is responsible for overseeing the CHOICES Grant Program and coordinating the annual Faculty Luncheon and All Honors Day events. Before coming to Xavier, Powers Hoyt, a native of Cincinnati, was a member of the women's swimming and diving team at Stanford University for five years. While at Stanford she completed a bachelor's degree in communications in 2001 and an master's degree in psychology in 2002. She completed her M.Ed. in sport administration at Xavier University in 2004. Powers Hoyt lives with her husband, Rich, and son, Lucas, in Northern Kentucky. |
