Assistant Athletic Trainer/Clinical Coordinator

Mike Mulcahey is in his 13th year as part of Xavier's Sports Medicine Staff and his second year as clinical coordinator for Xavier's athletic training academic program.

Mulcahey came to Xavier from Middletown (Ohio) Regional Sports Medicine and Spine Center where he worked with both Middletown High School and the Lebanon (Ohio) Clinic. He is an examiner for the NATABOC exam, American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Instructor, and Disaster Response Services Volunteer.

Prior to Middletown, Mulcahey earned his master's degree in athletic training from Western Michigan University, with a Graduate Assistantship at Loy Norrix High School.

As a former student athletic trainer, Mulcahey is no stranger to Xavier athletics. He earned his bachelor's degree in sports medicine from Xavier in 1996 while working with several teams. Mulcahey, his wife, Emily, and sons, Patrick and Ryan, reside in Cincinnati.
