Jason Ashcraft is beginning his first year as sports information assistant at Xavier University. He will serve as primary contact for men's and women's tennis as well as the video coordinator for Sports Information. Prior to joining the Xavier staff, Ashcraft spent three years as the media relations assistant at Morehead State University. At Morehead State he served as the primary contact for women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, and video coordinator. He also served as assistant statistician for men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and baseball. He also served as public address announcer for MSU soccer and volleyball. Prior to joining the MSU staff, Ashcraft spent time as a sports writer for the Ledger Independent daily newspaper in Maysville, Ky., and as a writer for several youth sports magazines. He earned a bachelor's in communications from Morehead State in 2004 and a master's in sport management from Morehead State in 2009. An Ohio native, Ashcraft graduated from Georgetown High School in 2000. His wife, Jessica, resides in Morehead, Ky. Ashcraft is a member of College Sports Information Directors of America and is also a licensed Private Pilot. |
