CINCINNATI - Several Musketeer student-athletes participated in an event called Kids in the Kitchen on Saturday at Cintas Center. Kids in the Kitchen promotes healthy eating and lifestyle choices for children and families. The program is a part of the educational series provided by Junior League.
Children's health and wellness has been a key issue for the program for several years. Junior League has a strong commitment to teaching kids and their parents about the importance of eating healthy foods and involving them in the fight against childhood obesity. The Musketeer student-athletes signed autographs and spoke to the children and parents about the importance of not only eating well, but staying physically active.
Anne Frigo, a senior on the Xavier swim team, led the group that participated at the event. "I was happy that we could be a part of this," Frigo said. "It is my hope that we can be role models and represent proper wellness and nutrition decisions. I think the kids really enjoyed having us here."
